I’m sure I’m in the minority on this, but I’ve struggled with vids like 7ball with no names on screen. I’ve always liked knowing who is doing what and it’s become harder and harder with more and more new content and new faces.

I'm with yah, and have definitely complained about it in the newsletter before — it makes it hard to create a connection with the skaters you're watching if you can't figure out who they are.

I actually hadn't noticed that there were no titles in 7ball, which is maybe a sign that I've perhaps been watching a little too much content lately... lol

This was a great read. I’m pretty new to your Substack and so I have to say I find it really impressive that you can cover so much skate content every week with such well-written pieces that offer thoughtful takeaways. So bravo for that.

Plus, I really enjoyed your piece section on 7ball and the landscape of skate videos these days.

And your essence of skateboarding section was great as well.

Thank you for reading and for the kind message, Michael! Stoked that you enjoy the thing.

There are probably more constructive things I could be doing with my time, but this has been a fun use of it at least. lol.

If there’s one thing that connects us all, it’s the understanding that a person can absolutely 360 flip a hotdog.

I think writing about skateboarding is a wonderful way to pass the time.
